A white piano in the East River?

This hipster "invitation" for an "event" in Williamsburg tonight arrived in my inbox last night. (Click to enlarge.) Perhaps I'm just being a stick-in-the-mud spoilsport, but isn't dumping a piano in the river, like, against the law or something?

Maybe the fish can play us their rendition of "Rhapsody in Blue." Oh wait..the East River? ... "Rhapsody in Brownish, Grey Sludge While Avoiding Plastic Soda Can Rings and Old Tires."

when i was at brown some kids made an event of smashing a piano to bits. seems it was ready for the dumpster - they took it out to a parking lot, and just destroyed it. i was working in a building on the lot - pretty cool to listen to.
